Yup. That’s a direct quote from me, and it pretty much sums up my conversation on Episode 28 of The Killjoy After Party podcast. Spoiler alert: my face hurt from laughing so much with Rude and Goody. And theirs did too. Sorry, not sorry.
The hosts invited me on to talk all things sober life, pop culture, addiction, recovery, tchotchkes (of course), and how I accidentally became the Leslie Knope of recovery media. We covered a lot. Including the moment I realized my sobriety didn’t just give me a second chance at life—it gave me a backstage pass to the weirdest, most wonderful version of it.

Tchotchkes, Truth Bombs, and One Hell of a Theme Song
It wouldn’t be an episode with me if we didn’t go off-script at least 17 times. We laughed about my love of collecting recovery-related trinkets (aka tchotchkes), dove into what it’s like navigating sobriety in a world that still wants to hand you a drink at every turn, and then—because this podcast is based in Nashville—we wrote me a theme song.
That’s right. I now have a theme song called “AB That’s Me.” Do I plan on making it my ringtone? Absolutely. Will there be a dance routine? Time will tell.
Life AF (After Fireball)
If you’ve ever wondered whether life would be dull without booze, let me be the first to tell you: it’s not. It’s just… different. Stranger. More colorful. And full of moments that make you laugh so hard your face hurts.
