On Saturday, February 22, the first annual Country Brunch welcomed over 400 guests to the brunch bonanza and Bloody Mary smackdown. Attendees and a panel of judges sampled brunch bites from Barrio, Brave Horse Tavern, Joule, Lost Lake, Loulay and Poquitos; and sampled Bloody Marys from Bastille, Manhattan, Monsoon, RockCreek, Roux and The Sexton. In addition to sampling, partygoers enjoyed live music from James Dean Kindle & the Eastern Oregon Playboys, Brass Monkey samples, custom caricature drawings, sips from the Caffé Vita espresso cart, ZICO Chilled Juice mimosas, Pyramid beer samples, up-close-and-personal time with a 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe, lawn games, pop-up shops, samples from Britt’s Pickles, and fun in the Seattle Met photo booth. Joule was named the Judges’ Choice winner for best brunch bite and Roux was named the winner for best Bloody Mary (with honorable mentions to The Sexton for originality and RockCreek for best garnish). Barrio won the People’s Choice award for best brunch bite and RockCreek won the People’s Choice for best Bloody Mary. Sponsored by BevMo!, Reyka Vodka, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, Brotherton Cadillac Buick GMC, Charlie’s Produce, Pyramid Brew, ZICO, Marx Foods, and Britt’s Pickles.
