On Tuesday, August 21, 2011, 225 people gathered in downtown Seattle to celebrate the second annual Brotherton Cadillac’s Celebrity Steak-Out. Upon arrival, guests walked the red carpet and entered Mario’s, a chic downtown boutique, to sip Maker’s Mark and Glass Vodka cock¬tails and peruse the silent auction. Items up for bidding included, among other things, stand-up paddle boards, a Putti candlestick, one-of-a-kind Warren Miller movie posters, exquisite wines, and spa, shopping and dining experiences. After the vibrant social hour, guests were led downstairs to Morton’s The Steakhouse to enjoy a delicious filet mignon dinner served by celebrities, including MLB All-Star and World Champion Jamie Moyer, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Duff McKagan, Seattle Sounders FC goalkeeper Andrew Weber, and NFL greats Jacob Green, and Dave Krieg. Throughout dinner, partygoers bid on priceless live auction items, including ski days with Warren Miller and numerous vacation packages. The inspiring evening of flavor, fun, and philanthropy was orchestrated to raise awareness and funds for Catch a Cure for Cancer™. Catch a Cure for Cancer™ is a community-led fundraising campaign created by The Moyer Foundation to raise awareness and funds for early cancer detection research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, a world leader in cancer research, prevention, and treatment. The Moyer Foundation and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center team up annually to encourage community participation in special events and activities throughout August and September to support Catch a Cure for Cancer™. 100% of net proceeds from Catch a Cure for Cancer™ efforts support The Gregory Fund, a special fund completely dedicated to early cancer detection research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Early detection is the single most important factor when it comes to saving lives. Produced by Seattle Met for Brotherton Cadillac; sponsored by Morton’s The Steakhouse Seattle and Mario’s.
